Here's a quick guide to get going and have fun!
Your main purpose out of the gate should be to gather money, but we'll talk about that latter. Just keep it in mind as you move along. As soon as you join the server and the website you want to join a town with a strong community and a decent nation. Look for a town with no taxes, it'll suit you the best of course.
Now you've gotten yourself familiarized with how the server generally works, so you're ready to start making money. The first natural instinct of everyone is to go directly to the spawners near farm. This is actually the best method to starting off. Kill, sell, kill, sell, etc.
Once you round up about 6,000 dollars buy yourself a mob spawner and plant it in your plot, underground will work the best so you don't have noobs stealing your loot or breaking your spawner. Make sure that you use
/spawner irongolem this will set your spawner to start spawning iron golems.
Grind as much iron ingots as possible then head over to the store and start selling.
Once you get around 20,000 dollars, it's time to start the real fun! Make your own town!
Find a nice spot in the middle of nowhere, at least 7,000 blocks from spawn and type /t new townname
This should create a town as well as it's first block. Go around and outline the plot. (If you don't know how to outline the plot, PM me and I can make a new guide.)
